desert (pegasus)

in the candlelight
your naked back
becomes a golden desert
of the finest sand
velvet and hypnotising
bathing under the moon

I hover just above
the undulating landscape
I feel the heat beneath the dunes
soft and cool to the careful touch
but still burning
should I succumb
to temptation
and submerge
just a little
deeper below the surface

I lick my lips
and blow gently
to make the diamond grains dance
and the desert replies
sighs
seduces
sirens in the distance
call to me
and I venture
with no thought of turning back
into the night
intending to be lost
