weave (phoenix)

Threads

Lying in bed
Playing dead

To the spider
In my head

And yet
There’s something
About this silver lining

Thread by thread

It weaves a web
Of desire around me

Tossed and turned
And swirled around
The knots thicken
With every jolt
I’m more deeply
Bound
By the beauty
Of its design
By the lines
Of light and shadow
Spun around us
Lost and found

Thread by thread

By threat

To bind me
To your passion
To take me
As you wish
And tie me up
Inside out
To your maze
Or my abyss

Ache to feel
You penetrate
The virtuous
Remnants
Of my life
To fill them
With your hook
Or bait
Peace or strife
Love or hate
As you please

Make me
Taunt me
Take me
Haunt me

Threads thicker
Than I am
And I surrender

It’s far beyond
Mere fantasies
For all your quirks
And all your charms
For all that hurts
And all that harms
You’re still the one
Weaving
Tempting
Titillating
Tantalising
Tapestries
